Comics with Two Dad's

Lee Searcey  and Matt D. sit down for this special  Two Dad's talking comics.  Lee and Matt discuss introducing comic books to their own kids.  As well as what it was like reading comics when they where kids.

Lee talks about getting X-Men #1 back in 1993 and what it was like reading that book and several others in that era.   While Matt gives us a little more background on how he started reading comics from his father and experiencing the coverless books from the 60's and 70's.

These two dad's talk about introducing the next generation to the MCU and Lee talk's about his love for Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet.  Then Lee brings up the most unusual item in the Marvel universe. The Thanos-copter.

Hilda and the Black Hound

On our 19th episode of Comics with my Kids, we take a look at the graphic novel Hilda and The Black Hound written and drawn by Luke Pearson Published by Flying Eye Books.

Melody continues her adventures through Hilda's stories.  Hilda comes face to face with a Nisse, a house spirit, that show us where all our lost items go.  The Nisse also shows us how he and other House Spirits navigate the hidden spaces in our homes. Along the way Hilda learns about the dreaded Black Hound, but is he as dangerous as everyone claims?  Hilda must find out that and why Nisses are getting kicked out of their homes.

Melody continues to tell us about her love for this book series.

On our 17th episode of Comics with my Kids, we take a look at the graphic novel Hilda and The Stone Forest written and drawn by Luke Pearson Published by Flying Eye Books. 

Melody continues to tell us about her love for this book series.  

After reading Hilda and the Troll then Hilda and the Midnight Giant, Melody continues on her journey along side Hilda as she faces Trolls, and being grounded. With the help of Twig and the Raven, Hilda manages to get out of trouble.

 With Logan having an avid interest in reading we decided to see if he would be interested in the fantasy series Percy Jackson.  He gobbled up the story like a fat cat eating lasagna.  So we then introduced him to the movie.

Hilda and the Midnight Giant

On our 15th episode of Comics with my Kids, we take a look at the graphic novel Hilda and the Midnight Giant written and drawn by Luke Pearson Published by Flying Eye Books.

After reading Hilda and the Troll, Melody wanted to read more about the young girl who is friends with the supernatural world. Therefore, she moved on to the next in a series of Hilda Books.

Melody really enjoyed this book and tells us about the story and what she thought of the book.

From our trip to the NWI Comic Con last February, Logan finally gets to read and review Drew and Jot by one of his favorite creators Art Baltazar.  Logan takes us through the book one character at a time.  He also tells us what he likes best about the book, as well as the difference in art styles.  Drew and Jot is a fun book about kids creating comics and the adventures they think up.  This story is Fantastic Catastic.
