Journey into a Landscape....

Many of our generation thought they knew something of the landscapes of the Viet Nam war from television and news releases and returning soldiers' descriptions, but in this novel, the physicality of the region is made alive and the author has created a vicarious experience of the jungle and the people and the experiences of his characters. The book is both a look back in time, the effects of that war on the characters, and contemporaryâan adventure of more recent time. A lovely read : complex, rich in detail without tedious or overwrought descriptionâ complex characters with complex issues well presented. Nothing is overworked here. The novel is graceful and engaging and I definitely recommend it!
