On this podcast Issy Woods, Tish Qvortrup and I discuss pornography. Tish has been doing research into how our society is affected by porn and how porn is affected by our society. The patriarchy and capitalism both drive porn to become more extreme and easily accessible. Issy has experience running sexual education workshops with school children and is also well versed in the discussions surrounding sex, gender and ethical pornography.

This is a conversation with Sister Jinho, an ordained nun in the Mahayana tradition of Buddhism. We discuss how uncertainty of the future can be viewed, why meditation is productive for anyone and if religion is good or bad for humanity.

Sister Jinho has chosen to live a spiritual life, her insights and perspectives are a great resource for people looking to see the world from a different angle.

Sophie Settle and I discuss her thesis on the red pill chat forum where she explored masculinity, what is an Alpha or Beta male and we try to work out the difference between masculine and toxically masculine traits. Thankfully, feminist movements are starting to create a more equal power balance between the sexes. This has created confusion for some men and what roll they play in todays society.

On this podcast Nina Turnbull and I discuss the idea of understanding 'the other'. We explore Nina's thesis which was a depth study into the colonial writer Charles Sturt's journal.Charles Sturt was a pioneering British explorer in Australia during its colonisation and in the thesis Nina analysed how Charles Sturt described the indigenous population of Australia.

Jacob Salawu is a recent graduate in Politics from Bristol University. His final year thesis asked the question as to why there is a huge under representation of minority ethnic groups at Russel group universities in the UK. This episode is a great reminder that institutionalised racism is very present in the UK. We also discussed the Black Lives Matter protests following on from the death of George Floyd. Enjoy.
