This episode is Part 2 of my conversation with Jennifer, we talk about tips for CPA who may be transitioning in their career.

The back story of a Mustang turned Maverick:Graduating from Western and obtaining my CA with PwC, I established my career in Finance & Accounting before getting into the recruiting industry in April 2006. I worked for fantastic Tier-1 companies in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry before moving into the fascinating world of Pharmaceuticals & Biotech. I had some wonderful Managers and amazing peers & staff. I supported various functions within the organizations I worked for and found myself gravitating beyond the “debits & credits” to roles that involved supporting the business. That is where I found my sweet spot. I combined my strengths of analytical & creative thinking and problem solving with relationship building, communication and leadership to create the perfect fit for my career. So of course I changed careers...I had never been in a “Sales” role before, but thought I was well suited for the new challenge as I can be a competitive, results-oriented person. That is why I love golf so much. It is an incredibly taxing individual sport, but you have a strong team behind you to help you succeed. WOW! I have learned a lot about myself that I may not have learned had I stayed solely in Finance. I am very grateful for the opportunities both careers have brought to my life. This UNIQUE perspective both as a former candidate and a former hiring manager, allows me to bring my “passion for people” to the table every day to create solutions & add value.I have been privileged to be part of 2 organizations in the recruiting industry; one that was fairly well-established when I arrived. The other, a company I helped start and was part of the transformation into a market leader until my departure in June 2015 to create Maverick Consulting Group. This was another new chapter for me and I have been having the time of my life with more AWESOME things to come!! I inspire others with my story and work hard to make good things happen for you! #Maverick
