When you ask God to show you His glory, He first brings you to a valley full of bones for one reason: for you to know how that glory works.  He wants to show you His ways because you will never comprehend His ways if He doesn’t show you how He works.  Without you knowing who He is for you and how He needs to function through you, you will never understand how to be that set apart generation.
