🏈 WEEK 4: HAIL ACROSS THE POND 🇬🇧

The Commanders are crossing the Atlantic — but first, we’ve gotta talk about one of the wildest home openers we’ve ever experienced.

Washington gets the HUGE win over Seattle, Marcus Mariota delivers, the defense creates chaos… and somehow Bob goes from sitting in the upper deck to standing TEN FEET from Terry McLaurin as he catches a touchdown.

Yeah. We’ve got a story to tell. 😂

This week, Bob & Mike recap an unforgettable Seahawks win, Bob’s unexpected trip to field level, the Terry TD, Cain Medrano’s pick-six and everything that made the home opener absolutely electric.

Then it’s Commanders vs. Colts in London. 🇬🇧

Jayden Daniels made the trip — but when will JD5 actually return? Did Washington gain an advantage by arriving days before Indy? Can the defense slow down Jonathan Taylor? And can Marcus Mariota do it again without Terry McLaurin?

Plus: Can’t Lose Locks, our game predictions, and Hail Yes, Hail, Hail No: London Edition — featuring warm beer, beans on toast and a full English breakfast that Mike wants absolutely NOTHING to do with.

Washington changed the narrative last week.

Now it’s time to take the Hail across the pond. 🇺🇸✈️🇬🇧

WEEK 3: SEASON STARTS AT HOME

The wait is over. Command the Commute is finally back where it belongs — in the car, on the way to the game.

Bob and Mike hit record at 7:30 AM and head south toward Northwest Stadium for Washington’s home opener against Seattle. The coffee is dangerously hot, the rain is coming down, the optimism levels inside the vehicle are wildly different, and after an 0–2 start, Washington desperately needs something to feel good about.

We put the Dallas loss in the rearview — including the gut punch of the JD5 elbow injury — and talk through what went right, what went wrong, and what Washington looks like while its quarterback is sidelined.

Then it’s around the NFL for Can’t Lose Locks, Week 3 picks, injuries and everything else happening across the league before we get to the Commute Breakdown for Seattle.

Can Washington slow down Seattle’s passing attack? Can the defense finally create a turnover? Does the run game have to carry the offense? And can Marcus Mariota do enough to give Washington a chance?

    Mike sees trouble.

    Bob sees a path.

You can probably guess how that conversation goes.

And as Northwest Stadium gets closer, so does the real reason this podcast exists: GAME DAY. We roll into the RedZone lot, find our tailgate spot, break out the Half Chicken Man seasonings and get ready to fire up the HCM Seahawk Skewer Sandwiches for the first home tailgate of Season 2.

IN THIS EPISODE: Cowboys receipts • JD5 injury reaction • Terry McLaurin • Washington’s RB situation • the secondary struggles • Can’t Lose Locks • Week 3 NFL picks • Seahawks preview • Driveway Take • Road Hazard • Fast Lane • RedZone Receipt • Half Chicken Man tailgate talk • and the actual drive into Northwest Stadium.

  • WEEK 2: Here We Go.. Dallas Week

    Send us Fan Mail

Philly is filed, and Dallas week starts now!

Bob and Mike are back to recap the Commanders’ 24–22 loss to the Eagles and decide what actually matters coming out of Week 1. Was it a bad loss, an encouraging loss, or somewhere in the middle?

The guys talk through the offensive line, JD5, Terry’s targets, Antonio Williams’ breakout moment, the two-point conversion call, the blocked extra point, the missed 54-yarder, and why the defense looked so much better than last year.

Then it’s time for Can’t Lose Locks, Week 2 pick’ems, NFL storylines, Half Chicken Man, and The Commute Breakdown for Commanders-Cowboys.

  • WEEK 1: The Road to Finish Philly

    Send us Fan Mail

Football is finally back, and Bob & Mike are kicking off Season 2 with a full Week 1 ride into enemy territory as the Washington Commanders get ready to face the Philadelphia Eagles.

In this episode, we hit the biggest NFL storylines from opening week, including Seahawks-Patriots, 49ers-Rams in Australia, AJ Brown, Sam Darnold, Deebo Samuel, and the weird new world of needing a spreadsheet just to figure out where the games are streaming.

Then it’s time for the return of Can’t Lose Locks, where Bob, Mike, and the ghost of Tom put their picks on record for favorites, underdogs, overs, unders, and survivor picks.

After that, we debut our new weekly segment: The Commute Breakdown — featuring the Driveway Take, Road Hazard, Fast Lane, and RedZone Receipt — as we break down how Washington can beat Philly in Week 1. Saquon Barkley, the offensive line, Jayden Daniels, Bill Croskey-Merritt, special teams, final scores… it’s all on the table.

And in true Command the Commute fashion, the fourth quarter turns into a hodgepodge of Steelers talk, Aaron Rodgers, tailgate food, Half Chicken Man seasoning, fantasy football, and the joy of having the NFL routine back in our lives.

We’re not ESPN. We’re not insiders. We’re two Washington fans talking about the game, going to the game, and putting every prediction on the record.

  • WEEK 0: 18 Weeks to go. 3 Predictions. Who’s Delusional?

    Send us Fan Mail

Washington Commanders 2026 season predictions are officially on the record.

In this Week 0 episode of the Command the Commute podcast, Bob, Mike, and Pops go game by game through the full Washington Commanders schedule and make their official win-loss predictions for the 2026 NFL season.

We break down every matchup, including the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans, Atlanta Falcons, Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, and more.

And somehow, after disagreeing on plenty of individual games, all three of us finish with the exact same Washington Commanders record prediction.

    Are we realistic?

    Or completely delusional?

We also talk Washington Commanders roster concerns, the offensive line, the defense, Jayden Daniels, fantasy football, Joe Burrow, Bill Croskey-Merritt, and what we expect from Washington heading into Week 1.

Later in the episode, we make NFL predictions from around the league:

🏈 When will Shedeur Sanders get his opportunity in Cleveland?
🏈 How long will Kirk Cousins remain the starter over Fernando Mendoza in Las Vegas?
🏈 Who will be the first NFL head coach fired in 2026?
🏈 Which coaches are entering the season on the hottest seats?
🏈 Which teams could disappoint this season?
🏈 Can Washington survive a difficult opening stretch?

Plus, Pops shares memories from RFK Stadium, we talk about the future Washington Commanders stadium, Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals, the Redskins name, and plenty of classic Command the Commute nonsense.

If you’re a Washington Commanders fan, longtime Washington Redskins fan, fantasy football player, NFL predictions fan, or just ready for the 2026 NFL season, this episode is for you.

  • Week -1: Commanders Cut Day

    Send us Fan Mail

    COMMANDERS CUT DAY

Bob and Mike react to Washington’s final preseason game, roster cuts, waiver-wire fallout, and the 53-man roster heading into Week 1.

We hit Instant Replay to see where we were right — and wrong — on last week’s predictions, break down the WR room, QB3, Sam Hartman, the secondary, and the biggest concern of all: that offensive line.

Plus: Cut Day winners and surprises, things get SPICY over Dan Quinn and the O-line, more Sam Hartman slander, Hail Yes • Hail • Hail No, and the usual fourth-quarter hodgepodge.

We also have a special challenge for our loyal listeners in Washington, Oregon and Singapore.

The preseason is over. The roster is taking shape.

Next week… we start talking REAL football.

The Good, The Bad & The Bubble

Two preseason games down. One left. And the Commanders’ 53-man roster is starting to take shape.

Bob and Mike are back in the home studio to break down what they’ve seen through Washington’s first two preseason games — from Robert Henry Jr. and Kaytron Allen making noise in the backfield, to Amik Robertson and Quan Martin flashing on defense, and Jaden Bradley making the already-crowded WR room even more interesting with one hell of a catch in Detroit.

Then we get to the questions that actually have us nervous.

Did Jayden Daniels need to play at all? How worried should we be about the offensive line? Who wins these final roster spots? And are the Commanders really going to carry three quarterbacks?

Plus, Washington may have finally found a kicker, we look ahead to the final preseason game in Baltimore, talk potential NFL expansion, break down what PSLs could mean for us as season-ticket holders, and debut a brand-new Command the Commute segment:

HAIL YES • HAIL • HAIL NO.

And somewhere along the way, a conversation about Sam Hartman’s good looks turns into Goodfellas, which somehow turns into our FIRST OFFICIAL SPONSOR. 😂

  • Buckle Up, Football is Back!

    Send us Fan Mail

The offseason is over, the commute is back, and Bob and Mike are headed to Northwest Stadium for the Commanders’ preseason opener against Miami.

On the drive, the guys get into the Jayden Daniels vs. LSU No. 5 drama, debate whether Stefon Diggs should be wearing Joe Theismann’s No. 7, and break down what Diggs means for a crowded Washington wide receiver room. Then it’s time for a Depth Check on the defense — Sonny Styles, the new additions, the secondary, and whether this unit can make a real jump in 2026.

They also react to the loss of Laremy Tunsil, hand out their NFC East Beast & Least awards for the offseason, talk John Harbaugh and the Giants, Cowboys and Eagles moves, Brandon Aiyuk, Tony Romo, Ted Lasso, NFL franchise values, new stadium expectations… and eventually find themselves stuck in game-day traffic trying to get into the stadium.

This is exactly what Command the Commute was built for — talking about the game while going to the game.

    Buckle up. Football’s back.

  • Commanders Camp Is Coming

    Send us Fan Mail

Bob and Mike are back in the home office for one final offseason episode before Command the Commute returns to the road. The guys toast one year of the podcast, break down the newly released Commanders uniform schedule, look ahead to training camp and the preseason opener against Miami, and begin planning their first game-day trip of Season 2.

They also discuss the latest stadium updates, the proposed “Washington Wall,” and John Riggins’ No. 44 jersey retirement. In this episode’s Depth Check, Bob and Mike take a closer look at the offensive line and why the health of Laremy Tunsil, Josh Conerly Jr., Sam Cosmi, Chris Paul and Nick Allegretti could be critical to protecting Jayden Daniels.

Plus, the Brandon Aiyuk saga appears to be over, RG3 keeps talking, the guys react to NFC East win totals, revisit listener comments, ask for fantasy football advice and close things out with the usual fourth-quarter mix of movies, television and completely random conversations.

Hail to the Commanders. Hail to the Redskins. Hail to Command the Commute.

  • TAKING SHAPE

    Send us Fan Mail

Command the Commute is back and the Commanders are  “Taking Shape” as Bob and Mike break down what the 2026 Washington Commanders are starting to become.

This episode kicks off with the debut of Instant Replay, where the guys correct last episode’s questionable takes, including preseason ticket prices, Jahan Dotson, Antonio Williams vs. Jaylin Lane, Ravens bandwagon slander, and some highly suspicious math.

Then it’s into the full Brandon Aiyuk saga: why he’s linked to Washington, the Jayden Daniels connection, the 49ers drama, the contract situation, injury questions, and whether the Commanders should actually make a move.

The main event is this week’s Depth Check on the running back room. Bob and Mike break down Jacory “Bill” Croskey-Merritt, Rachaad White, Jerome Ford, Jeremy McNichols, Kaytron Allen, and Robert Henry Jr., while asking if Washington could build its own version of Detroit’s Gibbs/Montgomery backfield.

Plus: Dutton Ranch, Mike’s movie reviews, UFC at the White House, Travis Pastrana, National Anthem game rumors, jersey talk, and plenty of offseason chaos.

    Hail to the Redskins!
