Rekha’ shares her deep knowledge and personal connections with many of the artists featured in this segment.  After the break the remaining 20 minutes provide the listener with a deep dive in the analogue and digital creates of DJ who has spun numerous genres and venues across the globe.  Featuring South Asian leaning bass this set finds itself showcasing everything from A Tribe Called Red(mistaken Indian identity intended) to diasporic rappers over folk music, to dubstep renditions of sub-continental tropical bass. DJ Rekha is founder and resident of Basement Bhangra one NYC’s longest running dance parties which takes place the monthly the first Thursday of every month.
