Commissioned

Text: ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬ ‭

“To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:”

Subject: SEASONS

“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.””

‭‭Luke‬ ‭22‬:‭31‬-‭32‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This sermon is derived from the highly esteemed movie Mission Impossible. In every movie Tom Cruise encounters a mission thats seems impossible, but yet the mission is accomplished. Humanity was faced with a mission impossible when it came to overcoming and redemption of sin. Mankind is sinful and needed redemption. Jesus left Heaven with a mission impossible, but Jesus made the impossible, possible and the invisible, visible.

Just Don’t Quit

Core scripture: Job 2:1-9

‭‭Job‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord. And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil? And still he holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him, to destroy him without cause.” So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life. But stretch out Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will surely curse You to Your face!” And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your hand, but spare his life.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. And he took for himself a potsherd with which to scrape himself while he sat in the midst of the ashes. Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!””

Today we encounter a devoted father, husband, and worshiper. Job struggles are the basis of, is Job worship, devotion, and sincerity to God based on what he has, feel, and receives.

In the poetic book of Job we see that Satan has his eye on Job. Job chapter 1 we see Satan has a conversation with God.

1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV): 9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
