In this sermon series, the purpose is to encourage the Body of Christ not to give up and learn how to navigate as they’re weathering the storms of life.
HOW DO WE WEATHER THE STORMS OF LIFE? 1. (V25) Rely only on the Lord as YOUR SAVIOR:
• “...Save us Lord...”
- Save (sozo): rescue of physical life from some impending peril or instant death; Lord: teacher, master; owner
• Key Verses: Salvation - Acts 2:21; Acts 4:12; Romans 10:13; Peril – 1 Corinthians 1:8-10 IN THE STORM WE’RE REMINDED THERE’S—NO OTHER SAVIOR BUT GOD—OUR
LORD!
2. (V26) We must GROW IN FAITH:
• “...Why are you afraid, you men of little faith...” - afraid: timid
• Key Verses: 2 Timothy 1:7 - little: trusting too little
• Key Verses: Matthew 17:20; then Matthew 13:31-32*
IN THE STORM —WE MUST ALWAYS BE GROWING—OUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS UPON
IT!
3. (V27) Don’t spend time QUESTIONING WHO HE IS:
• “...the men were amazed...” “...What kind of man is this”
- amazed: to marvel; be struck with admiration or astonishment - kind of: what character; quality; equivalent
• Key Verses: Hebrews 13:8; Numbers 23:19
IN THE STORM —WE MUST KNOW EXACTLY WHO WE’RE IN THE BOAT WITH!
