In practice, mirroring starts by attentively listening to what the other person is saying. Then, you repeat or rephrase their words, ensuring you capture the essence of their message. For example, if someone says, "I feel overwhelmed with work," you might respond with, "It sounds like you're really stressed out by everything you have to handle at work." This simple act of repeating or paraphrasing helps clarify any misunderstandings and shows the speaker that you're paying attention.
