Throughout the day today, select areas of Northern California should continue to pick up some decent rainfall totals while the Sierras could have another 12-18 inches of snow coming down. Extreme winds continue to be an issue and a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect in select areas.

Over the next few days, parts of Northern California, Oregon, and Washington could be seeing over an inch of rain in some places with higher amounts possible in select locations. Along with the rain there is some decent snow in the forecast possibly seeing over a foot throughout the Cascades and Sierras. Some of the key dangers of this system may actually come from the extreme winds as Western Washington/Oregon could see gusts in the 50's, while the Sierras could reach hurricane force.
