As Christians, we've probably heard on multiple occasions that we are called to love the Church. But what does that mean? What kind of love are we called to? This week we look at 1 Peter 1:22-25 to answer that question.

In 1 Peter 1:17-21, Peter reminds believers to conduct themselves in fear. But the Bible also says perfect love casts out fear - so what is Peter referring to here? We answer this question and look at some practical Biblical examples of God-honoring fear in this week's message.

In 1 Peter 1:13-16, we see Peter give strong exhortation to the people about what mindset they needed to have to endure their trials. Do we consider the way we think day in and day out? Are we thinking rightly? What does that look like? This week we consider these questions and more.

Why does someone have to die? Why did Jesus have to be the one to die? Why was Jesus forced to die? Why would Jesus die for me? These are very real questions that people ask as they wrestle with the gospel. This Easter, we look at the answers to each of those questions, and how they build to present a beautiful revelation of God's love for us.

This week we study 1 Peter 1:10-12. In these few verses we first find a timeless reminder of the beauty and necessity of the Old Testament, which causes us to ask "do we engage with the full counsel of God?" We also find an important lesson about how God has structured His Church and designed us to operate in relation to one another, which leads to the second question, "if I know God's counsel, do I apply it?"

This week we look at 1 Peter 1:6-9, where Peter uses the stark and powerful metaphor of gold being refined by fire to describe the Christian life. We go verse by verse through this passage to examine how believers should respond to the fires of life, and what we can focus on when we're in the midst of them.

As we continue our series on 1 & 2 Peter, we come to 1 Peter 1:3-5, where we find some of the most hopeful, heartening verses and reminders for believers. We encourage you to become very familiar with these verses, so on our hard days which we all have, we can come back to God's truth and be uplifted by it.

As we launch our new series on 1 & 2 Peter we begin with the first two verses of 1 Peter. What important details do we find in verse 1 that help us understand the context of these letters? And in verse 2, we find answers to the common, painful question of "why is this happening to me?"

How are we to properly make sense of suffering? If we believe God is good and perfect, why would He allow bad and horrible things to happen to us and to those around us? These are all important questions that we may have asked at one point or another, and as we enter into our new series on the letters of 1 & 2 Peter, Pastor Mario gives us a theological framework for us on this main theme of the letters.
