This week's episode is with Vanessa Cornell, who is the founder of Nushu, a community healing destination with online offerings, as well as in person gatherings in New York, as well as retreats. This whole platform was born out of Vanessa's own personal disconnection from herself after a lifetime of being a high achiever.
This was such an incredible conversation and I feel like a lot of her story resonated with my own. Those who could fall under the perfectionist or recovering perfectionist camp or have struggled with people pleasing will feel very seen and validated by Vanessa's work. In this episode, we get into the concept of having the capacity to hold two contradicting truths at the same time, unlearning perfectionism, the power of community and being witnessed, the gratitude trap and what that is, the privilege of being able to do the work and the responsibility that comes with it, and having patience with the process while allowing our bodies time to catch up with our minds. This was such an impactful conversation that I hope resonates with our community as much as it did with me.
