Winterfest 2024
Taking place on Saturday, December 7th, Winterfest is a beloved community tradition filled with festive activities for the whole family. A Parade and highly anticipated Drone Show,  Mayor Murphy and Director Stalder shared their enthusiasm for the event, emphasizing its role in fostering community spirit and highlighting local businesses.


30th Annual Santa Cruz Valley Car Nuts Show
Looking ahead to 2025, Sahuarita will host the 30th Annual Santa Cruz Valley Car Nuts Show on January 25th. This milestone event is a must-attend for car enthusiasts, featuring classic and custom cars from across the region. It's an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow car lovers and support local causes, as proceeds benefit scholarships for local students.


Exciting News: Disc Golf Course Development
Mayor Murphy and Director Stalder also provided an update on the upcoming disc golf course in Sahuarita. In a partnership with Freeport McMoRan, This project promises to be a fantastic addition to the town’s recreational offerings, offering a fun, accessible activity for residents of all ages. The course is expected to attract visitors from nearby communities, further boosting local businesses and showcasing Sahuarita as a destination for outdoor recreation.

Andy Taylor spoke with St. Francis of the Valley Church about the Three Day Event "Festival of the Trees" which officially kicks off Tomorrow (Friday December 6th 2024) at 5pm. This Fun Family Event features many decorated trees and a Wonderland of Christmas Cheer with Entertainment, Food and Beverage and even Santa and Mrs Claus! 

A 50/50 Raffle and Gift Basket Raffle will also be taking place!

• Pest Control Myths Busted
  
  A. After 60 years in business we've heard all the myths for pest control - some are true, some aren't 
  
  B. "All natural remedies are enough."
  
                   1. Essential oils, vinegar, citrus peels, etc. can be deterrents, but don't last and aren't effective long term. 
  
  C "If you don't see pests, they aren't there."
  
                     i. Many pests typical hide during day and are more active at night If you're seeing, can often mean population is so large that they have no where else to hide
  
  D. "DIY pest control is just as effective as professional services." 
  
                     i. Many over the counter products can be effective on pests, but homeowners aren't trained on proper application and pest biology/behavior which are vital for true elimination
  
                     ii If not performed properly, issues can actually get worse instead of better leading to needing a professional and potentially a more expensive treatment
  
  E. "One treatment is enough to keep pests away forever." 
  
                      i. One treatment can be an effective "knockdown", but won't provide ongoing control and prevention
  
  F. "Cats or dogs will keep rodents away." 
  
                       i. Some pets may instinctively chase or play with rodents, but aren't effective control measures
  
                       ii. Professionals have tools and knowledge to safely and effectively eliminate rodent infestations
