The 1st ever UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball Jacksonville is a premier fundraising gala and major social event focusing on raising awareness of the need and benefits of a college education, the students UNCF serves and the contributions of historically Black colleges and universities.

Celebrating Black History month, Committee member, Anita Spencer called in to invite the community out to The 6th Annual “Melanin Market” & Black History Parade and Liz McCoy called in to invite the community to JWJ’s Hip Hop Festival: Lifting Duval’s Legendary Voices will be a celebration to honor Black History Month in a unique and authentic way, by teaching the next generation the (core) pillars of Hip Hop!

The goal of Sista strut is to heighten awareness about the issues of breast cancer in women of color, as well as provide information on community resources. Sista Strut recognizes the strength of survivors, their families and friends, heightens awareness, promotes early detection and the search for a cure. Sean Rush, Carlton Golden and Fernando Gant of Theta Phi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. came by the show to invite the community to their second annual MasQuerade Ball March 14th, from 8pm-1am. Donna Deegan called into the show to talk about continuing her Marathon of LIFE and the importance of Voting. Jacksonville-native Donna Deegan, the founder of The DONNA Foundation, is lacing up her sneakers to run, but this time it's for a political marathon! We talked about her belief that healthcare should be a right in this country! Presenting News to Jacksonville area for 25 years, surviving three bouts of cancer, and creating The Donna Foundation, Donna is ready to take it to the house! Reminding the community that Voting is their right, and to exercise their rights!

Marsha Oliver, Senior Director of Charitable Outreach for THE PLAYERS, Pepper Peete, wife of the late Calvin Peete, who won THE PLAYERS Championship 35 years ago this year, and Coach Robert Young with The First Tee came by the show to share The Players Championship charitable impact to the community, the primary goal of First Tee and the historic win of the late Calvin Peete! They also invited the community to join in on the excitement of The Players Championship as well as saluting the Military!

Two-time Emmy award winning former news producer and author Nikesha Elise Williams came by the show to talk about debuting her One Woman Show, Lessons We Were Never Taught, to kick off Women's History Month. April Seliga and friends came by the show to encourage the community to stop smoking, we talked about smoking within the younger generation and how we can take steps to stop smoking/vaping, which is currently an epidemic.

Chanteya Lawrence, Board Member of Moore Myers Children Fund, came bu the show to talk about Moore Myers Children Fund and their mission to provide financial assistance for under served children to participate in golf programs that will develop their total wellness. They support programs that will teach the skills of golf and help children develop confidence, honest, integrity, respect, judgement, courtesy, and perseverance, which are all core values encompassing the game of golf.

Leslie Weed, Heal founder and Jason Gurka, Executive Director came by the show to talk about TEAM HEAL. A group of young professionals who are passionate about HEAL’s mission and vision, in addition to promoting advocacy and awareness of autism in Northeast Florida.
