Ben took our Sustained theme to our new series in the book of John, looking at John setting up his premise in the opening prologue that Jesus is God, the creator, and the source of life.

Ben wrapped up our Ruach series with a practical tool called Prayerful Listening to help us discern God's will and where he is moving. We then participated in a boat building activity to remind us of our need to set our sails, surrender to God's will, and go with him.

Ben spoke about our need for Renewal by the Holy Spirit. That we need to surrender to the ongoing and lifelong transforming work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, known as Sanctification.

Phil continues our Breathe mini series with the word Revive. Ezekiel 37 contains a vision of dry bones being brought to life by God. Phil talks about how the Holy Spirit can revive our dry, tired, weary bones.

Shelby started our mini series of Breathe with the word “Ruach”. God’s breath of life. Learning to metaphorically open the sails of our ships to catch the wind of God’s breath. And surrender to where God is leading. Following and being part of where God is at work.

In light of Australia Day, Phil spoke about the first colonial chaplain Richard Johnson, and how the Australia Day call to reflect, respect, and celebrate encourages us to see how God has lead us to make courageous decisions and sustained us through difficult circumstances.

Ben launched our 2025 theme, Sustained. God holds all things, and he is able to sustain us throughout our life. So that we are able to finish well, not just limp across the line. We will be looking at scripture with the lens of “how does this show us God sustaining us?”

Shelby helped us see our role in pastorally caring for each other, and how our wounds give us perspective, experience, and wisdom to position us to be able to help others better.

Jackie preached about the question “Why?” and shared with us from vulnerable places of the juxtaposition of Jeremiah 17:5-8.

Phil reflected on the year and invited us to give thanks to God for all he has done.
