Jesus said God blesses those who are persecuted. This is very counterintuitive statement. Suffering doesn't make anyone happy. Jesus was persecuted so much that he was literally killed for his faith. So how can he say that people who are persecuted are blessed?

When we talk about purity most people think about sexual purity or being free from external sin. If you don’t have sex outside of God’s design, don’t drink, don’t gamble, don’t listen to bad music, and don’t watch mature rated tv shows and movies then you are pure. But Jesus had a different idea of purity that might surprise you.

Mercy. It's something we all want. We can ask for it, expect it, and even beg for it when we need it. But is mercy weakness? Is it just forgiveness? Discover how mercy plays out in the lives of followers of Jesus.
