‘And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.’

‘Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.’

‘He was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow:  and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?’

‘Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother!  And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.’

‘Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.’

‘We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

‘Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

‘I went out full and the Lᴏʀᴅ hath brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the Lord hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me?’

‘And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
