  • Devoted | Serve Team Interview

As we continued in our Devoted series, this week we had the opportunity to hear from some of our amazing Serve Team members about their experiences being a part of a Compassion team. Serving is a powerful part of our relationship with Jesus. When we serve, we learn and grow spiritually in our walk with the Lord. Serving allows us to experience the joy and the blessing of community with other believers using their gifts for God's kingdom glory. We also have the unique opportunity to see what God is doing and be a part of His life-changing work here and now. When we take that bold, obedient step to serve, we open ourselves up to the reality of living in joyful service to our all-sufficient God. Let's explore together what it means to serve and why it matters.

  • Ghosted | Pause and Remember

Pastor Marcus invites us into the profound journey of remembrance through the lens of Habakkuk's struggles in the face of injustice and suffering. Drawing from Habakkuk's bold conversations with God, he highlights how this text speaks directly to our hearts, revealing the art of remembering as a pathway to finding peace and joy even in difficult seasons. By challenging us to pause and reflect on God’s past faithfulness, Marcus emphasizes that remembrance is not just a nostalgic act but a powerful tool against discouragement. He encourages us to create tangible ways to capture our memories of God's goodness, reminding us that every act of divine presence matters as the God who acted in history is alive and active today. Even as we navigate our doubts, we can be encouraged that God extends mercy and grace to each of us just as Jesus did for Thomas in his uncertainty (John 20:24-28).

  • Ghosted | Wait And Listen

In his sermon, Marcus explores the theme of waiting on God as exemplified by the prophet Habakkuk, who questioned God during times of injustice and silence. He emphasizes that waiting is an active process involving seeking perspective, standing firm in faith, listening for God's voice, and maintaining patient expectation. Marcus reminds the congregation that God's timing is perfect—which comes from the Hebrew word "moe-abe"—and encourages them to trust that even during delays, God is at work. Ultimately, the waiting period can strengthen their faith, shaping them into individuals who value their relationship with God over mere blessings.
