Some of the heaviest things we carry are the things no one else can see.
When people think about law enforcement, they often think about the calls, the crises, and the traumatic events officers witness. But over time, I've learned that some of the greatest weight comes from the memories that follow us home, the grief we rarely acknowledge, and the stories we were never meant to carry alone.
In this episode, I reflect on the survival skills that helped me succeed as a police officer, the silence I learned long before I wore a uniform, and the realization that functioning and healing are not the same thing.
We explore trauma, hypervigilance, self-reliance, leadership, and the cost of carrying responsibility without giving ourselves permission to be human.
This conversation isn't just about policing. It's about anyone who has spent their life showing up for others while quietly ignoring their own needs.
Because strength isn't about carrying everything alone. And healing begins when we're honest about what we've been carrying.
Leadership. Humanity. Honest Conversations.
