Complementarianism, Identity, and Trinitarian Controversies

Listen Later

Recently, there has been a lot of debates and controversy surrounding the idea of "Eternal Generation". Personally, I believe there would be much benefit added to this debate if Christians stopped seeing submission as the primary component of Complementarianism rather than unity/partnership as is presented in ‎Genesis 2.I believe the roles of Submission and/or leadership are the fruit & not the root of the helper/partnership/unity decree of God as read in Genesis 2. This makes a MASSIVE difference!
When you root Complementarianism in eternal subordination rather than in Genesis 2 and Ephesians 4 9Christ and Church relationship) you are beginning where the Bible does not and you will travel where the Bible does not go. The wrong starting place leads to wrong emphasis.
In short, a wife's role is not rooted in submission but in a partnership where she is a help to her husband. Submission is the fruit of this.
