After a year away Complicated Simplicity has returned. Times haves changed, life has evolved, hosts are different but the goal is the same.  The trio of Chris, Tonie, and Tyana provided insight on how they are handling the pandemic and how to cope with stress and anxiety. Also we discussed if the resurgence of black owned businesses and interest in the BLM movement will still be going strong when the virus is gone. The conversation culminates with a look into how generation curses/traumas affect us today and what can be done to break those curses. Betrayal is the breaking or violation of a presumptive contract, trust, or confidence that produces moral and psychological conflict within a relationship amongst individuals, between organizations or between individuals and organizations. This week we discuss something that we all have been through or will go through in life and that's betrayal. It's unfortunate but it's also inevitable. Instead of avoiding it we tackle it head by disclosing some examples of us being the betrayer and also being the betrayed and how we dealt with each scenario. Alabama is passing laws which almost ban abortions completely even in cases of rape and Texas cops are shooting pregnant black women down in the street. Roses are red, violets are blue, love is supposed to be perfect, but we all know that aint true! We're back again with another episode and this time we talk about what love is to us. We talk about what we have experienced and what we've learned becoming adults and navigating the ups and downs of the L-word. -Nobody seems to think the New Zealand attack is that big of a deal...well we do! Just because something happens in another country doesn't mean it can't hit close to home. Without being overly political we discuss some of the ways this act of terrorism is swept under the rug or deemed "isolated"- Jess Hilarious made the mistake of thinking xenophobia had humor to it and it backfired.  Was she wrong? Yes. Is she alone?
