Living in a far country, we display heavenly beauty in a colorblind world. 1 Peter 2:11-17

1 Peter 2:4-10 shows us to be living stones, called to be a spiritual house, built to proclaim the excellencies of God.  The purpose is that we might offer, as one church, spiritual sacrifices that are pleasing to God.

The path toward the future has to be based on love, or else it is empty - not as valuable as it could be.  We must be obedient to the truth (the Word of God) such that it purifies our souls and changes our hearts.  We must also taste the kindness of the Lord and fervently love one another from the heart.  Love moves us to want others to know and to grow in Christ.

How is your craving for the Word of God going?  We are encouraged to experience the community found in small groups and discipleship groups, and to consume God’s Word together.

The cure to bad theology is right theology.  It's not about the style of music we employ, but the content we use in our common confessionals and our worship.  We need praise - to confess God together - in our individual lives and our corporate worship.  Through it, we are able to rejoice in a secure future and see our trials in a different light.  The primary text for is 1 Peter 1:3-12.

God’s work in reconciling us to himself changes our citizenship from some place in this present age to the kingdom of Christ, and that new allegiance not only makes us aliens in this present age but also shapes how we live on mission in what has become to us a far country, not our true home. 1 Peter tells us how to live in a world to which we no longer belong but are committed to serve in the name of our Messiah King Jesus.
