A WORD FROM KIRK

Hi Conejo Church family.  I pray for you every day, that you are becoming who Jesus created you to be!  Often that growth happens best in challenging times.  We certainly are having those!  Please pray for me and for our leaders, that God would continue to give us wisdom and courage to lead the Conejo body through this season.

This coming Sunday, July 19, our own John Barbour will be preaching from James.  His topic is from James chapter 2, which is all about how our faith is shown in ACTION.  This will not be a guilt trip week for all of us to go do more.  Instead, John and I were talking this week about how Jesus invites each of us into friendship and relationship with Him.  That close relationship results in changes not just in our thoughts but in our actions as well…

Blessings to you all!  I can’t wait to see many of you again as we begin to gather in person on Sundays.  We’ll be starting our new teaching series on the book of James this weekend.  I feel led to teach James right now because of the practical help it gives us about how to live out our faith in challenging times.  Some of the big themes we will be hitting over the next few weeks are trials, temptation, when to hold your tongue, showing favoritism, wealth and privilege, putting God’s Word into action, and what real religion is all about.  This will be an awesome season of digging into a new book together.

Hi Conejo Church Family!

May 31 is Pentecost Sunday!  If you don’t know what that means, you can read about it in Acts chapter 2.  It’s a really big deal :).  Please join us for this very special livestream as I teach about the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament and in the words of Jesus and John the Baptist.  We will also have more specifics for you about gathering in person the following weekend.  John and Anne will be leading our time of worship, along with a few friends and we will show a very special video put together by worship leaders from the various Conejo Valley churches for Pentecost Sunday.
