Jesus said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” (Luke 4:43, NIV). Euan MacRae warns us that many followers of Jesus believe that the Kingdom of God is important but settle for a substandard experience of Jesus that revolves around endless meetings and coffee dates. The disciples were told to pray for the Kingdom of God to come, and for the will of God to be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Following Jesus should be the most exciting life a person could ever live, but are we seeing signs of the Kingdom around us? Are we confident in the power of the Gospel to transform even the most broken lives? Do our churches reflect the culture of earth more than heaven? In this message Euan explores the kind of life Jesus purchased for us on the cross, and how we can walk in more, through the power of the Holy Spirit, as we seek first the Kingdom of God.
Jonathan Stanfield preached a stirring message highlighting our need to embrace the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, both in the life of the church and as individual believers. It’s all about His presence. We must be a body where every saint flows in the Holy Spirit and in their spiritual gifts, for each part to do the special work of God. Jonathan shares personal experiences of encountering the manifest presence of God, and the challenges of overcoming fears to fully engage with the Holy Spirit's work.
In this session, Ashley Gabriel reminds us that the Christian journey will bring us to trials and troubles, that Scripture tells us that we must suffer many hardships. These hardships will test one's faith, and therefore saints need encouragement and strengthening. Ashley unpacks how we can stand firm and avoid shipwrecking our faith when facing difficulty. He looks at the importance of the apostolic, building healthy churches, the prophetic, and healthy partnership as key foundations to prevent us, as individuals and as churches, from falling away.
In this session, Richard van de Ruit shares what it truly means when Jesus tells us to take up our cross and follow Him. He encourages us as believers to count the cost of following Jesus, to be able to fulfil the works that the Lord has prepared for us to do. Richard urges us to open our hearts and allow the Holy Spirit to shine His light into the areas of our hearts that we are reserving for ourselves, reminding us that following Him will cost us everything. Taking up our cross means that we are committed to following Him to Calvary.
Peter de Korte teaches powerfully about the paradox of the gospel: to find life, you have to lose your life. He feels that the Lord is asking us: who wants to pick up their cross daily to follow Him? Peter addresses modern false beliefs regarding the message of the gospel, and encourages us to ask ourselves if we are embracing the right perspective – do we have a Kingdom mindset? He reminds us that there is a prize much greater on the other side of giving up our lives, which is the assurance of eternal life with Jesus.
When we open our homes, we open our lives and, in turn, open our hearts to one another. Rousseau Moss looks at the example the early church set by being devoted to one another in a way we don’t often see in Christianity today. He looks at the life of Jesus, and significant events that happened when He was in people’s homes. When we bring people into our homes, they bring life, and we connect deeper with one another. This message from Rousseau addresses the ‘why’ and ‘how’ behind hosting and hospitality as we continue to endeavour to build according to His blueprint.
Roland Paul preaches a moving message about God’s compassionate heart towards us, as He chooses to feel our pain and sorrow, and is deeply affected by our hardships. This compassion moves Him to intervene in our lives, just as Jesus was moved by compassion for the crowds around Him. Roland encourages us to see Him as the good Samaritan in our lives: He does not walk away but helps us. By embracing Jesus’ kindness, we can reflect this to the world by becoming good Samaritans ourselves - helping and leading others to Jesus.
In this session, Lukas Nakos builds on the theme of our calling as priests, motivating us by unpacking why we must live our lives to build God’s house. He also helps us by explaining how we can do so. Lukas emphasises that the Lord does not want us to settle, but rather to live extraordinary lives as ambassadors of His Kingdom. He looks at what we can do practically to keep in step with God: we must remain close to Him, His Word, our leaders, and our church family.
Andrew Selley’s opening message for this Conference epitomize the Lord’s desire is for all believers: to orientate our entire lives around Him and His purposes. Andrew challenges false beliefs about God’s plan for our lives, and shares that we are more than ordinary citizens of His Kingdom – we are priests. The Lord has called all of us into something bigger than many realise, which is to make disciples out of all nations. Andrew unpacks what Scripture tells us about how we are to live for God and His Kingdom. We must be equipped for this task and break free from complacency and worldly affairs.
Shifted perspectives and hearts set on fire - we are called by God to be priests in His Kingdom. Here is a peak into precious moments of impartation, equipping and surrender at the Conference in the Isle of Man 2024, where over 1 000 saints from many churches and nations unified under the teaching of the apostolic. We invite you to watch or listen to these sessions and join us in advancing the Kingdom of God. These sessions are available on the Four12 website, App, YouTube channel and as podcasts.
