Confessions of a New Teacher

As a new teacher the thought of budgeting gave me literal anxiety. The second I learned to change how I look at my finances and income, poof it all clicked! I'll share some of my favorite budgeting tips and tricks! 

What is your "why", and why does everyone talk about it? Every interview you're on, every teacher book you read, references your why. Your why is your life vest as a teacher, and it's important to know and remind yourself that you are making a positive impact on others! Listen along as I describe my why, and try to help you find yours. 

I seriously don't know how I taught without having this check-in process in place. Your mornings as a teacher are going to be chaos, full of questions, comments, and insights from your students. A morning check-in process allows all of your students to feel heard, regulated, and have some time to chill out in the mornings. Imagine a Starbucks shop but with your students, kind of vibe. Calming, relaxing, and as a teacher this sets me up on the right foot!  

I see perfectly organized paper clips, binder clips, and pens. I see an umbrella that's $500. How am I supposed to decorate my classroom when my budget is not even half of that. Here are the realities of decorating your classroom, with some tips and tricks to remind you all of our rooms are a mess at one point. 

Before I began teaching I literally read every blog, watched every youtube video, and listened to any teacher podcast I could find. But everyone was talking about grading and work.
