Relationship As Medicine

Confidence, Magic, Disability and Inclusivity with Lacey Nagar Ammerman

Listen Later

In this episode of the podcast, I chat with Lacey Nagar Ammerman on how practitioners and care providers can best support individuals with different abilities or chronic health conditions through a trauma-informed approach to ensure they feel seen, acknowledged, and understood in their healing journey.

Lacey also shares her deeply personal journey through navigating muscular dystrophy in her personal life and in her business and how it has fueled her passion for supporting her clients with disabilities and body challenges.

We also discuss:

  • Health diagnoses as traumatic events and how to support people through them (especially when their diagnoses are ongoing and progressive)

  • How to be more inclusive of people with different abilities (whether visible or not) in meditations, practices, resourcing, etc

  • How to resource in the body when we don’t trust or feel good in our bodies because of illness

  • What “confidence” or “body image” means for Lacey and her clients

  • Tips and tools for practitioners who may be working with confidence and body image in themselves or their clients

  • About Lacey:

Lacey Nagar Ammerman is a Confidence & Certified Body Image Coach, author, and mentor. Her mission is to make a difference in the lives of women through confidence in their bodies, businesses, and relationships so they can show up fully, make more money, and create yummy partnerships.
