Faithfulness is required in stewards, because a true steward must be trustworthy, dependable, constant, in what God has placed in his care. Faithfulness is not something we can claim for ourselves by words, church attendance, or outward performance, but something that is proven over time by a life submitted to God and rooted in truth. A faithful steward is content, willing to work, willing to serve unseen, and willing to keep his duty even when it is difficult or uncomfortable.
