Santa is teaming up with a local nonprofit organization to raise some money for our schools while also sending letters and spreading Christmas cheer!

First Class Children’s Foundation works to raise money to purchase school supplies for kids in the DuBois area.

Founder Matt Reed says the letters come straight from Santa, mailed directly with a special message.

Banners of local veterans may be coming to Brockway thanks to efforts from the American Legion and the Legion Auxiliary.

The Brockway Borough Council heard from Dee Dee Carlini, president of the Legion Auxiliary Post 95.

The Legion has been working on bringing banners to Brockway and needed the council's support. The banners would be hung on light posts in the borough.

The council voted unanimously to support the initiative. Council President Chris "Smoke" Benson called the project a great way to support the community's veterans and urged residents to contact Carlini to help out.

Next Thursday, you'll get the opportunity to get a first-hand look at the new LaunchBox program from Penn State DuBois, which is now housed in one of the historical bank buildings in Downtown DuBois, at the corner of Brady Street and East Long Avenue.

It will be part of the final DuBois Chamber Business Connections Luncheon of the year. The lunch is on Thursday, Nov. 14 from 11 to 1:30.

Tickets are $25 and include a catered lunch, networking, and a speech from Brad Lashinsky from Penn State DuBois, who will explain how LaunchBox could give new businesses a chance to grow in the DuBois community.
