An explosion of fun is waiting for you and your family at the 22nd Annual Sunny 106 Kids Fair, Sunday March 31st from 1 until 4 p.m. at the DuBois Area Middle School! The Science Lab comes to DuBois with “Mad Science” of Pittsburgh’s show-stopping experiments!

Mad Science of Pittsburgh will be performing three shows in the auditorium of the DuBois Middle School. William Cody, president of Mad Science, says he and his scientist friends will be handling the more dangerous experiments on stage.

Later in the show, the kids will get the chance to check out other experiments more closely, including dry ice and bubbles. He’ll even show parents some easy science experiments they can do at home.

In addition to the science show, there will also be meet and greets with your favorite princesses and the Pittsburgh Parrot! Plus balloon animals, fire truck rides, face painting, and an authentic race car!

Students, teachers, and politicians got together to rally at the State Capitol for more after school programs that would support Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math learning, also known as STEM.

Senators John Yudichak of Luzerne County and Senator Katie Muth of Chester County were there, saying that students in these programs stay off the streets and learn the skills they need in life and as part of the workforce.

$1.2 billion is provided to after school programs through the 21st Century Learning Center grants program, making up about half the budgets of many local after school programs.

Opening night is Friday, March 29 at 7 p.m., with another show at 7 this Saturday, and then a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.

Performances continue next weekend, on April 5, 6, and 7.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, and $5 for kids 11 and younger.

The bipartisan, career and technical education (CTE) package includes measures to address workforce shortages in business and industry, strengthen educational partnerships with employers, increase access to career oriented technical training and alleviate misconceptions regarding vocational education programs.

House Majority Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) joined his fellow Republican members to highlight the legislation and what it means for Pennsylvanians in the job market, and young people making plans for their future.
