It’s another $20,700 for our 25th Annual Light Up a Child’s Life campaign for Make-A-Wish, thanks to three local clubs! The clubs worked year-round to collect money to provide magical wishes to kids dealing with critical illnesses.

Sandy Club brought in $4,400 (one wish), IPNS (Independent Political and Social Club) donated another $4,400 (one wish), and the Olympic Athletic Club donated $11,900 (nearly three wishes)! That’s a total of $20,700! Thank you!

We got a lot of big donations for the Make-A-Wish 25th Annual Light Up a Child’s Life campaign yesterday, including two big ones from the Reynolds family!

Charlie Reynolds and his daughter, Jennifer Reynolds-Hamilton, came in with a special surprise… a donation of $8,800, enough to cover the expenses for two kids to each have their one true wish!

Charlie says he’s inspired by the Make-A-Wish families and challenges others to donate to make their dreams come true.

Clearfield Area School District brought in another $4,000 for the 25th Annual Light Up a Child’s Life campaign for Make-A-Wish!

The school sells t-shirts to students and teacher, who then wear them around school and to football games.

Allison Colna is one of the students at Clearfield Elementary. She was diagnosed with ALL, acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Her end of treatment is this March, and she’s been in remission for about two years now.

Allison’s one true wish was to swim with dolphins, but she got to do much more than just that! She not only swam with dolphins, but she also got to go to Sea World and Disney World for part of her trip!

Allison’s mom, Beth, also teaches 7th and 8th grade special needs classes.

Don Shimmel not only organizes the t-shirt sales for the Clearfield School District, but he’s also a wish dad. His son, Corey, was also diagnosed with ALL 18 years ago. Now he’s doing fine and is actually stationed with the US Army. His wish was to go to Disney World.

Skye Houge is a 9-year-old boy who had a traumatic brain injury when he was younger. Since then he’s been through at least 15 surgeries and had to have half of his brain removed. Sky came in to visit and talk about his wish to go to Disney World two years ago and how much he loved it. In fact, he loved it so much that Disney characters are still on his Christmas list for this year.

14-year-old Tessa Hiles qualified for a wish to go to Disney World 8 years ago because she had leukemia. Tessa’s mom says it was a hard time for the entire family… in fact, Tessa’s brother Johnny was 4 years old at the time and decided to help by providing the bone marrow Tessa needed for a transplant.
