In the Kingdom of God, there is a difference between entitlement and permission.

Entitlement is a self-focused attitude, which is expressed as a heightened sense of deservingness. An entitled person believes that they deserve more than other people and will often pursue their needs at the expense of others.

On the other hand, a person who understands permission knows that they have received all things as blessings from the Lord and this will lead them to a greater sense of thankfulness. This attitude brings delight to God!

"Often misunderstood, the concept of "grace" has received a bad wrap. Grace has been translated into the license to do whatever we want. It is believed that since God knows all things, our wrong doing is often just part of the plan. Such a definition has led many to steer clear from this gift from God and lean more towards a works-based religion. But, this is not what God intends for us to have. He desires to correct our understanding of grace so that we can live in the fullness of life from His heart!"

In John 14, verse 27 Jesus shares with his disciples this powerful truth: “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid."

True peace is a gift of God to you, delivered to us by Jesus Christ and administered by the Holy Spirit. It is this gift of peace that manifests as the harmony that exists between the elements of your being. Your mind, heart, will, and emotions can be in sync and work together creating an atmosphere of inner wellness.

Peace is a gift for the mind and the heart.

The heart and the mind together really shape our experience in life and directly affects our quality of life. They work together.

When Peace is in our hearts and minds, we will not be troubled or afraid. This is our inheritance in Christ!

Over the past 9 weeks, we have been learning our way through the Life from the Heart of God Series. This series was inspired to guide us through seven words that reveal the potential of life in God.

As a disciple of Jesus, what did God intend for us to have, to know, to do?

What quality of life do we have access to in Christ Jesus?

When we set out, the intention was to to look at our perception of life in Christ and line it up to the truth of God's word so that we are accurately seeing and perceiving what life in Christ is really like. Then we can live from that truth.

Today, is the intermission - we will pause and recap the main ideas of the words we have studied so far and my prayer is that as we revisit the words, you would be drawn near to the very heart of God.

May you sense the presence of God in your own life, in this moment, and may you know in your heart how much you are loved by God.

May this rest be one in which you are revitalized, restored and renewed.
