This week kicks off our Self Activation mini series, where we will dive into the 7 primary chakra centers. This is a journey into the interconnected nature of our energetic, physical, mental, and emotional bodies; and how we can begin to move through the blockages in our life.


In this episode we dive into the inner lessons of the root chakra. Our root chakra is the base of our life force, and acts as the link between the outside physical world, and our internal energetic system.  It gives us the motivation to get up each day, eat, and procreate. It is what governs basic needs in life, such as food / water / shelter / community / belonging, as well as our basic emotional needs, such as letting go of fear, and leaning into trust. 


Balancing the root  chakra is the foundation to create anything in this lifetime. A balanced root chakra is also connected to a regulated nervous system, which allows us to face challenges and difficulties with more ease. It’s the realization that we are the creators of our life, and teaches us the deeper lessons of self-trust, and creating a stable foundation within yourself and your support system.

Allow yourself to root deeply into your inner being as we take this rich first step together.

What are some of the common blockages? 

  • The mothers emotional state, while you were  in the womb
  • Ancestral trauma / lineage healing 
  • Childhood environment, if you didn’t have basic needs or safety 
  • Abandonment

 

Signs of a blocked root chakra

  • Energetically sluggish
  • Physically issues with colon, bladder, lower back plain
  • Inflammation
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Eating disorders

 

Signs of an overactive root chakra

  • Overly negative or annoyed
  • Excessive attachment
  • Concrete behaviors
  • Anger, short temper, greed

 

Ways to balance

  • The color red: crystals, foods (root vegetables)
  • Reconnecting with your body (running, dancing, yoga)
  • Meditation
  • Get out in nature as much as possible 
  • Yin yoga & hip openers
