Jesus made many wonderful promises to us during his ministry. But one that is often overlooked is when he said, “In this world you will have trouble.” (John 16:33) Christ was certainly right about that! And yet, Jesus wasn’t really warning us of difficulty, he was promising us victory. We don’t have to feel overwhelmed when the One who has overcome is on our side!

If you read the gospel of John closely, you might notice an interesting quirk: John never refers to himself by name. Rather, he always calls himself "the disciple whom Jesus loved."

In the final message of "On Our Side," pastor Dan explains how John's sense of self changed during his time with Jesus, and how we, too, can step into our God-given identity.
