Believe it or not, Jesus often compared church to a party. Why is God so big on throwing parties, and how do you score your invite?

Church is a rescue party, having a rescue party. If that sentence is a little confusing, perhaps it's because you aren't familiar with the three stories Jesus tells in Luke 15. Each of these parables reveals a God who will never quit pursuing the ones He loves.

Let's be honest men: It's hard enough to take care of ourselves at times, much less the added weight of providing and protecting our families. Too many of us find unhealthy ways to manage the stress that we carry; often times our unhealthy coping strategies actually become destructive to the ones we love the most.

But perhaps the pressure you feel is a weight you were never meant to carry. Is it possible that while you try to convince yourself that you are your family's saviour that you prove how desperately you need a saviour yourself?

In this year's Father's Day message, pastor Dan unpacks the life and struggles of Cain, famous in the Bible for being the world's first murderer. And while it's easy to villainize Cain, the patterns he fell into are all too common in our world today. Perhaps they even describe your life as well.

There's a pretty high likelihood that at some point in your life, you have made a decision you regret. Whether it was a moment of careless naivete, or a "damn the consequences" choice, you may now wonder if your past compromises your future. At what point does our history ruin our destiny?

In today's message, pastor Dan relates the story of John Mark, a promising young man from the early church whose decisions nearly sidelined him for good. But luckily for him (and us) in Jesus, even our biggest screw ups can be salvaged!

It's been said that the only constant in life is change. New seasons, new opportunities and new challenges all force us out of our comfort zone and into the unknown.
