The question of if or when to start a family is something many adults ask themselves at some point in their lives.

New England is different from the rest of the U.S. in many ways. But one of the most visible is our celebration of the individuality of each town. While some states may have giant metro areas governed as large cities, or strong county government overseeing the municipalities inside it, we, largely, let towns elect their own officials and run their own affairs.

Among the big-ticket items that did not pass in Connecticut's 2019 legislative session were tolls and legal cannabis. While tolls will likely be debated in a special session this summer, proponents of recreational marijuana will have to regroup and wait until next year.

The two people being charged with evidence tampering in the case of a missing New Canaan woman pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Stamford Superior Court. Fotis Dulos and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, both pleaded not guilty to two felony charges related to the disappearance of Dulos's estranged wife, Jennifer Dulos. She's been missing since late May.

For the past two years, lawmakers have directed more than $100 million earmarked for energy efficiency upgrades to instead, be swept into the state’s general fund. Last week’s budget agreement got rid of those funding sweeps, but it was unable to reverse a more than $50 million diversion scheduled for July.

Each year, the best birders in Massachusetts participate, and it’s not as peaceful as it sounds… In fact, there's intense competition to see who can spot the most different kinds of birds around the state.
