What are the Jersey Youth Parliament giving up for Plastic Free July? How much plastic do we recycle in Jersey? How can we make a positive impact on our environment when the issues appear to be so complicated? 

Kim, Emily, Sebastian, and Ruby explore our complex relationship with plastics, school recycling schemes, fast food packaging and how simple changes can make a difference to reducing island waste.

Ruby meets other members of the Jersey Youth Parliament to find out about their campaigns as they work towards presenting their findings to the States Assembly in September 2021.

Emily explains how one group have engaged with the Citizen’s Assembly on Climate Change. Oliver describes how some members are focussing on education by finding out about discrimination, identifying life skill gaps and how to promote student support. Other members have participated in the Children and Young People’s Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Strategy consultation and hope to bring positive changes for young islanders through their campaign work.
