We can know about Jesus our entire lives without ever truly believing in who He is. Sometimes, we follow a version of Jesus that feels comfortable, but Scripture calls us to something much deeper: real life begins when we believe in Jesus as the Christ. In this week’s message from John 20, Pastor Jordan shows us how the resurrection changes everything. Jesus is not simply a good teacher or an inspiring figure; He is the risen Son of God, our Lord and Savior. When we are convinced that Jesus has defeated death, we can surrender our lives to Him, receive the life He offers, and live with purpose through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Purpose can feel confusing, especially when life is hard or doesn’t match our expectations. In this week’s message from 1 Corinthians 3, we’re reminded that purpose isn’t found in ease or personal preference, but in a foundation. Scripture shows us that there is only one true foundation—Jesus Christ—and everything in our lives must be built on him.

Money and success are often seen as the pathway to security and satisfaction, but Scripture exposes that they can easily become the very things that enslave us. In this message from James 5, we are reminded that the issue isn’t having possessions—it’s when possessions have us. The passage calls us to hold loosely to the things of this world, endure faithfully through suffering, and live with urgency in light of Jesus’ return. When our hearts are anchored in Christ instead of temporary things, we don’t live for what fades—we live for what lasts.

James 4 confronts two quiet but destructive sins in the Christian life: tearing others down with our words and making plans without reference to God. In this message, Billy shows that both slander and self-directed planning flow from the same deeper issue—pride. Rather than blaming others or clinging to control, believers are called to humility, repentance, and surrender. When we trust God’s grace and submit our hearts, our words begin to reflect Christ and our plans begin to follow his better will.

Conflict in the church rarely starts with circumstances alone; it starts in the heart. In this message from James 4, Pastor Jordan shows that the quarrels, pride, and division that damage Christian community are ultimately fueled by disordered desires within us. But the answer is not simply trying harder to be nice—it is letting the gospel confront our pride, heal our wounds, and reshape the way we relate to God and one another. As we humble ourselves before Christ, we find the grace to lay down our passions, love the church rightly, and walk in the new life he has given us.
