“Your God is Too Small”

- Where do you run to when you are faced with a crisis?

- It is a matter of trust. When people tend to not trust God, it is because they believe is is not big enough to handle our circumstances.

- Genesis 24 (story of Abraham finding a wife for Isaac)

- Abraham knew the kind of God he was dealing with, and so he knew that God would provide the proper wife for the servant to find in his old country.

- God is big enough for your huge, impossible request.

- God did not only answer Abraham and the servant’s requests, but exceeded them.

- As long as you make your God small, you will get small blessings. When you treat God as the kind of God he is, he will unleash God-sized blessings.

A son of God? What gives a man or woman to share the same title that was given to Jesus? To be a peacemaker is to be a vessel to bring about peace between God and those who do not know him. To be a peacemaker is to do the same job today that Jesus did 2000 years ago. How wonderful it must be to be so blessed to be called a son of God and to point others towards him!

How can one see God? According to Jesus, it's a purity of heart that will clear your vision to see God, but this "seeing God" isn't referring to something that will happen after you die. It's talking about something very real and very right now. Can you see God at work in your life?

Mercy is a one of the hardest things for someone to show or to receive, but Jesus calls us to live lives of mercy towards those who have hurt us.

What exactly is righteousness? And why are those who desire it blessed and filled? The truth is, righteousness has less to do with being a good person and doing the right thing than you think.

What is meekness? Often times, in our culture, we associate meekness with weakness, but this is not the case. The characteristic of meekness implies that one has great strength, but that this strength is controlled. So, why will the these kinds of people, according to Jesus, inherit the earth?
