Connections Between Mental and Physical Well-Being: Guest Bobbi Millman

Listen Later

After a car accident that left her severely injured, Bobbi realized that she couldn't continue living in a state of unhappiness and physical discomfort. Bobbi's weight and back issues meant that she couldn't pick up her son or play with him the way she wanted to. This realization propelled her on a journey towards happiness and self-care. Bobbi understood that she needed to take care of both her mental and physical health in order to design the fulfilling life she desired. Determined to become a happy and healthy role model for her son, Bobbi began by focusing on her diet and exercise routines. She understood that achieving success and happiness required consistent effort and dedication. Bobbi compared her journey to a snowball, where as she started pushing towards her goals, momentum built up, and she began to feel better physically and mentally.

More about Bobbi: Bobbi is a mom of two in a blended family, hailing from the beautiful province of Newfoundland. Bobbi was a former behavioural therapist turned jack of all trades at the Toronto Transit Commission before taking early retirement 6 years ago. Bobbi is the driving force behind "Hungry Guelph," a vibrant Facebook group dedicated to tackling food insecurity and reducing waste. Bobbi's innovative approach to connecting people with excess food to those in need has made a meaningful impact in her community.

But that's not all; Bobbi is also a dedicated weight lifter, and totally transformed her life with a commitment to personal well-being and strength. Her husband is partner with a nutritional company which allows them the opportunity to travel and share their love for healthy living. Her passion doesn't end there, as she's deeply involved in fostering cats and rescue work, showing boundless love and care for our feline friends.
