A Piazza Sallustio, a lato degli Horti Sallustiani, c’è art’otel, un nuovo albergo che ha preso il posto dell’Albergo Londra che dal 1907, insieme ad altri villini limitrofi, era stato edificato dal costruttore Zeffiro Rossellini, nonno del famoso e omonimo regista italiano. Il nuovo albergo ha una speciale vocazione artistica che lo armonizza bene nel prezioso contesto in cui è collocato.

In Piazza Sallustio, next to the Horti Sallustiani, there is art’otel, a new hotel that has taken the place of the Albergo Londra that since 1907, together with other neighboring villas, had been built by the builder Zeffiro Rossellini, grandfather of the famous and namesake Italian director. The new hotel has a special artistic vocation that harmonizes it well in the precious context in which it is located.

Singolare edificio a pianta triangolare dell’inizio del ‘900, che nell’angolo tra Via Salandra e Via Carducci offre allo sguardo dell’osservatore una straordinaria esperienza visiva che lo porta a spaziare dall’antichità romana alle vertiginose prospettive di New York.

A singular triangular building from the early 1900s, located on the corner between Via Salandra and Via Carducci, it offers the observer an extraordinary visual experience that takes him from Roman antiquity to the dizzying perspectives of New York.

Nella nuova Capitale del Regno dopo la Breccia di Porta Pia, e in particolare nel rione Sallustiano, il Villino diviene presto l’emblema e il simbolo di istanze innovative legate all’affermazione dello stile Liberty e alla necessità di accogliere, con i dovuti onori, i moltissimi funzionari dello Stato e politici che si trasferiscono a Roma, al seguito del Re da ogni parte d’Italia (a cura di Federica Sbrana).

In the new Capital of the Kingdom after the Breach of Porta Pia, and in particular in the Sallustiano district, the Villino soon became the emblem and symbol of innovative instances linked to the affirmation of the Liberty style and the need to welcome, with due honours, the many state officials and politicians who moved to Rome, following the King from every part of Italy (edited by Federica Sbrana).

Nel Rione Sallustiano sono presenti i resti delle due più importanti cinte murarie dell’epoca romana: le antiche mura dette “Serviane” e quelli più recenti dette “Aureliane”. Queste cinte murarie avevano anche delle aperture in corrispondenza dei più importanti assi viari romani, che tuttavia per motivi differenti oggi non sono più visibili.

In the Sallustiano district there are the remains of the two most important city walls of the Roman era: the ancient walls called “Serviane” and the more recent ones called “Aurelian”. These city walls also had openings corresponding to the most important Roman roads, which however for various reasons are no longer visible today.

Villino su Via Boncompagni che ospitò fino al 1972 l’ultima residenza della famiglia Boncompagni Ludovisi nell’area una volta occupata dalla vasta e prestigiosa Villa Ludovisi, e che dal 1995 è diventato museo per la promozione e decorazione delle arti decorative, della moda e del costume (a cura di Federica Sbrana).

Small villa on Via Boncompagni which housed the last residence of the Boncompagni Ludovisi family until 1972 in the area once occupied by the vast and prestigious Villa Ludovisi, and which since 1995 has become a museum for the promotion and decoration of decorative arts, fashion and customs (edited by Federica Sbrana).
