A recent article published in the Washington Post states, "many addiction treatment centers do not follow up with their patients, the ‘100 percent’ success rate some cite only applies to those who complete the length of their stay. When we weight in on the relapse rates that are currently estimated to be as high as 80% and then consider of the many thousands of dollars spent by families and provided government by supported programs such as: rehab facilities, group therapy, wilderness programs, etc., we are left asking the a most obvious question: If these programs are not working long-term, are there options that are effective?
