Read Luke 15:11-32

1) Can you recall a time when you experienced jealousy and envy? What was life like living in the midst of those feelings?

2) Read Proverbs 27:4. How could jealousy be more dangerous than anger and wrath?

3) On Sunday, we discussed how “Discontentment will start to take root in your life if you spend more time focusing on what everyone else has instead of focusing on what God has blessed you with.” Is this something that you struggle to do? If so, what do you need to do or change in your life to reminded yourself of how God has blessed you?

4) Read Hebrews 13:5. Unlike the older son in Jesus' parable, do you think you can be content in life by simply knowing that God, our Father, will never fail or abandon you? How so?

5) Read 1 Corinthians 13:4-5. Have you ever considered that jealousy and envy come from a lack of love? What does this say about your posture towards the people you are jealous or envious of?

6) On Sunday, we discussed three ways to conquer jealousy and envy:

- Admit what’s in your heart.

- Thank God for how He has blessed someone else.

- Ask God to give you a love for that “someone else”.

Of those three, which one do you think will be the most difficult for you and why?
