She Tried And Failed. (So She Tried Again.)

Conservative Dress- Mandatory, or Musty?

Listen Later

What ever happened to those girls with foot long braids and knee-length skirts I grew up with? Ya know, the ones who wore long sleeves under their Aeropostale tees and hose with their ankle socks and Converse.Of course, there are those who continue in this tradition: the uncut, untrimmed hair, the long skirts, the sleeves to the elbow, and don’t even get me started on the makeup…But what about the girls who came through the hallowed halls of our conservative Christian academies and colleges and churches and have obviously--from their social media profiles which you cannot help but notice on--left “the way?”An even better question is: Were they wrong to do so? Are they… Gulp… Sinning?Answer: Maybe! But also… Maybe not.

References:Deut 22:5- A man shouldn't wear a woman's clothes, and vice versa.2 Tim 3:16- "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right."2 Peter 3:1-2, "I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles." (V 2)1 Peter 1:15-16, " But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;" Hebrews 12:14, "Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord."
