I Corinthians 16:1-24

I Corinthians 15:35-58 the Seed, the Flesh, the Quickening, Christ’s Human Nature, and the Ultimate Hope of the Resurrection

We start with an examination of “the seed” in regard to resurrection & the Messiah, and then review Paul’s references to fleshly and heavenly bodies, with our assertion as to which Old Testament scripture Paul was referring when he said “it is written, the last Adam became a Quickening Spirit” (Ps 80:17).

We define and discuss quickening in regard to the resurrection, and child killing in the modern west. And learn why there is not, nor can there be a contradiction, or even one error in God’s Word.

Will people marry after the resurrection? What does Jesus say? And does that apply? And what does Paul mean by “the last Trump”? I Corinthians 13 & 14 – Spiritual Gifts, Seeing Through a Glass Darkly, Very Good vs Perfect, Charity and Speaking in Tongues

This week we examine the sarcasm of Paul toward those in the Corinthian church coveting what they assume to be the “best” spiritual gifts, (and those who covet them today). We examine the scriptural evidence that in the early church, (before we had the complete Bible), God supernaturally appointed and confirmed His prophets, apostles and pastors, by Spiritual Gifts.

And then we get into the purpose of God from before the foundation of the world to teach the creation perfect charity so we could grow up into the perfect man in Christ. We cover “see through a glass darkly” and “being known as also I am known.”

We learn that Charity is exalted over spiritual gifts, (along with edification). And that prophecy that edifies is more valuable than the performance of the Sign Gifts granted to the early church before we had the complete Bible.

Paul broadens reproof and correction from divisions, heresies and detractors to carnal behavior in the church regarding the Lord’s supper and Spiritual gifts. So we examine what the scripture tells us the Lord’s supper is, how it’s to be observed, and we learn why some who observed unworthily got sick and even died! Is “transubstantiation” true? Is the Lord’s supper an ordinance for the Christian Church today? And if so, how should we observe it?

What are the Spiritual gifts, how did they operate? what were they for? are they still around today? Can I get healed by God today? How do I know I have the Holy Spirit? How is He operating today. Does he heal, and can I speak in tongues? Do I need to have spiritual gifts to know I’m a saved Christian?
