Consistent Pursuit of Christ - Philippians 1:12-26
By: Ptr. Jonard Hermosa
Paul wrote the book of Philippians at a time of dire circumstances. With imperial guards being mentioned in this epistle, the context suggests that it was written at the time of his imprisonment. But despite what would appear to be unfortunate circumstances, we read of Paul saying that what had happened to him served to advance the gospel. Paul tells the Philippians that through all this, Christ is proclaimed and displayed through his life. Here we see that the pursuit of Christ is made manifest by a life lived for Christ, but that life lived for Christ can only be the outcome of a genuine and deep understanding of the gospel.
