Making and/or carrying out threats to do something to harm you. Threatening to commit suicide. To report to welfare. Making you drop charges.

The abuser will prevent you from getting a job or keeping one. Making her an allowance Taking her money.

In domestic violence the abuser treats you like a servant. Being the one to define men and women roles. Makes all the big decisions.

The abuser will use threats and intimidation to take the children..

Making light of the abuse and not taking her concerns about it seriously. Many abusers have denied the abuse of their partner.

Some women have been isolated from their abuser. Isolated from family, friends, education etc..
