Planning for the Easter Day feast will now have to be created anew. Several things won't change, but figuring out how to incorporate them will. May the unusual circumstances within this Lent season help you find a closer bond to the Lord.

With the trauma of life coming from all sides this year, the Lenten journey offers many specific prayers for personal reflection. We can, as did Mother Mary, witness the journey Jesus took and a way through our trials of today.

By now going without and prayer most likely is becoming a more significant part of your day. The conscious considerations should provide a greater meaning, especially when we sometimes waiver from our long term commitment to honoring our Lenten practices.

Going without. Shouldn't it be easy to do? Hard for me, but probably easy for you.

Also, wondering how Mother Mary as a parent would have felt around the Passover times during those first few early years after the Resurrection.

Can you imagine the first feasts to remember our Lord's honorable sacrifice for us? How did she help the apostles and all the other early Christians honor her son's sacrifice for us?

What Will I Do? Will it be something to give up or something to do for others? It's the question that comes to mind, like it or not, this time of year.

Getting on board the start of Lent for your Easter Season 2020 by remembering the Virgin Mary and her watching Jesus in his passion.

The Virgin Mary's being there in the Passion of Christ is worthy of consideration when you recall that almost from the time of his birth, like any good parent, she concerned herself with the life and health of her new born son.

And in quick order, time was short in the manger as Joseph was warned by an angel of the Lord that he must hurry and take his young wife and child rapidly away from there lest the baby be killed.

And so the stories that remind us of both the life and death of God on earth can yield much more for us also in this Easter season.

Why did the Virgin Mary concern herself so over Russia? In view of re-reading several accounts of life in the Soviet Union, during the times of Stalin's decades long absolute control over his people, seems to me to explain one reason why.
