This time we recorded on Fryer's deck because it was too frikin hot in the pod-shed and reminisced about the Squamish Constellation Music Festival last weekend - we were very fortunate to have interviewed The Lowdown Brass Band (4:01), Old Soul Rebel (15:47), Pharis & Jason Romero (27:17), and The Hyenas (41:28) so check it out! The Lowdown Brass Band is a uniquely strong representation of Chicago Music culture. This talented all horn band leans heavily on dancehall and street beat rhythm, with the energy of conscious hip hop, jazz, reggae, and soul.

Bold. Upbeat. Immense and Soulful is the cutting edge sound which is Old Soul Rebel. A powerhouse duo, coloured by brass and driven by drums, puts a brand new shine on soul and rock n roll. Inspired by their First Nations and African American upbringings, core members Chelsea D.E Johnson and Lola Whyte write music that rebels against what is old and outdated.

Pharis and Jason Romero the husband and wife folk duo, three Juno awards and seven Canadian Folk Music Awards later, they continue to tour and teach with love and care with their two adventurous kids.

Embodying the energy & ferocity of their animal namesake, Hyaenas is a new Indie Rock band breaking into the Canadian music scene. Their music is written through a queer feminist lens - exploring themes from acceptance to vigilance; celebrating nature, self-worth, and social justice. Their sound draws inspiration from 80’s icons The Go-Go’s to modern day Indie darlings Warpaint, and synth-pop power quartet Metric.
