Can recording a podcast episode be a kathartic experience? In the newest installment of The Road to the LGT Tomek interviews the Ying and the Yang of the UK Tournament Circuit, the duo behind 40k Fireside - Vik Vijay and David Gaylard. We hope you noticed that we try to add a theme to each of the "Road to..." episodes based on who we are interviewing. This episode is not different: we found it appropriate to ask the two top players of the UKTC about their ways of dealing with pressure of being there at the top, the pressure of others' expectations but also the pressure one puts on him/herself in the pursuit of excellence. This episode should be a joy to listen for absolutely everyone, not because this is esssentially 40k Fireside with Tomek asking questions, but because Dave and Vik open up so much and provide so much insight into the topic, that at the end they come to the conclusion that it was a proper katharsis for them. And we are back to our Road to the LGT series with the boss himself - Mr Zac Addington - to talk about what players can expect at the event. In this episode I get to interview the mastermind behind Team Poland's 2nd place - the man, the myth, the big bossman - Typhus. The conversation does not focus on his games even though he did serve as the playing captain due to some mishaps right before the event. Conversely, we invest a lot of time talking about Poland's team building process, army selection, the mind games and the sacrifices the team went through while preparing for the event. We also talk about estimations and pairings and wether they played out the way the team intended and whether the armies performed according to the team's intentions. Definitely a treat for anyone considering playing this games in teams on competitive level or going to the WTC.
